The de facto ground cover for public lawns in Singapore due to its tolerance to cutting, varying sunlight, soil conditions and trampling. The leaves are often wrinkled or wavy, and hairy along their margins. The inflorescence usually carry 2 or 3 (rarely 4) spikes, which branches sub-digigitately.
